Danny Cremers

2
Danny Cremers (born 1984, Netherlands) makes porcelain vases that refuse completion. Working in slab construction, he treats the fired object not as an endpoint but as a starting point for continued intervention. His practice engages the history of ceramics through its most charged form: the prestige object, where decorative function and sculptural ambition meet.

Trained in fashion design at Central Saint Martins in London, he develops his ceramic work from Amsterdam, moving between decorative arts and sculpture. His vases retain the immediacy of the sketch, privileging instinct and process over resolution.

Improvisation is central to his method. Working against the conventions of ceramic finish, he allows forms to remain visibly unresolved and open-ended.

His work has been presented in exhibitions in Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan and Paris, and was recognised at the Ceramic Brussels Art Prize. In 2026 he completed a residency at the European Ceramic Work Centre (EKWC) in the Netherlands.
