Anne Verdier

Anne Verdier is a French ceramic artist. A former student of cellular and molecular biology, she turned away from the microscope after earning her degree from the Institut Européen des Arts Céramiques to devote herself to the creation of monumental works, which she approaches in a strikingly theatrical manner. In her practice, she combines various materials, earthenware, stoneware, glazes, and porcelain, which are transformed through firing in a true process of metamorphosis, revealing the final form of the work.

Her work, exhibited in France and internationally, has been presented in major institutions such as the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris (Flammes: The Age of Ceramics, 2021), MO.CO. Montpellier (Contre Nature, 2022), and the Fondation Villa Datris (Toucher Terre, 2022). In 2025, Galerie Daguet-Bresson in Paris will dedicate a solo exhibition to her. Her works are included in several public collections, including the CNAP and the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon.

Deeply engaged in a reflection on the social role of artistic creation, Anne Verdier develops collaborative projects with schools, cultural centers, and correctional institutions. Through clay, she seeks to rebuild connections and to make material a space for dialogue and emancipation.
