Amy Jayne Hughes
Originally from West Yorkshire, Amy Jayne Hughes lives and works in London. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in 2010, she is a founding member of the multidisciplinary studio Manifold in East London.
Her work has been featured in numerous international exhibitions, including at the Victoria & Albert Museum as part of the London Design Festival, at the Crafts Council’s “Collect” fair, and at Croome Court (National Trust) for her first solo exhibition. A recipient of several awards, she was notably a finalist for the Perrier-Jouët Arts Salon Prize and the Young Masters Maylis Grand Ceramics Prize, and represented the United Kingdom in the New Talent program at the European Ceramic Context.
Deeply committed to handcraft, Amy Jayne Hughes explores the relationship between form and ornament. Inspired by the decorative arts of the 18th century, she reinterprets the vase tradition by creating pieces that bridge past and present, blending heritage with contemporaneity.
