Alex Zablocki
Alex Zablocki is an American ceramic artist whose work deconstructs the ceramic vessel to reanimate its constituent elements, integrating remnants of utilitarian ceramics that flow across layers of vividly saturated glazes.
In 2008, he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Finlandia University, then pursued two post-baccalaureate programs at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and Colorado State University, as well as a residency at the Anderson Ranch Art Center in Aspen, Colorado. In 2017, he received his Master of Fine Arts from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
Alex Zablocki currently teaches as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Ceramics and Sculpture at Alma College. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in numerous galleries and art centers, including the Red Lodge Clay Center (Montana), the Archie Bray Foundation (Helena, Montana), CC Gallery (Taiwan), ALCOVA Design Week (Milan, Italy), Mindy Solomon Gallery (Miami, Florida), and Galerie Italienne (Paris, France).
His works are now part of public and private collections, including Culture Object (New York), Galleria Luisa Delle Piane (Milan), and the M.F.A. collection of the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum (ACAM) at Alfred University (New York).
