Bouchra Boudoua
Bouchra Boudoua is a ceramic artist and painter whose work bridges ancestral craftsmanship and contemporary design. Trained in Spatial Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, she draws on her Amazigh heritage and the architectural landscapes of southern Morocco to create works shaped by place, memory, and the human gesture.

Splitting her time between Casablanca and Marrakech, her practice is deeply rooted in the earth and the materiality of clay. Clay lies at the heart of her work—a medium through which she translates natural textures, symbols, and shifting colours into surfaces that navigate the space between emotion and cultural memory. Gestures drawn from painting are transposed onto clay, where the material resists, absorbs, and transforms. Signs and symbols gradually emerge, allowing chance and the firing process to play an active role in shaping the final work.

Bouchra Boudoua works closely with master artisans, reinterpreting Moroccan craft traditions through a contemporary lens. Inspired by everyday surfaces—such as sun-baked walls, worn rugs, and architectural details—her works evolve organically throughout the making process, revealing the poetry of sun-kissed ceramics and celebrating the generosity of both the material and the process.
